Brazilian Wax

Hey peeps..sorry for the long hiatus..phew..my blog is sooo dusty. Okay, since i've been disappearing for quite some time, i figured i owe you guys a new review. I got a lot of questions when it comes to waxing. Brazilian wax to be precise. The FAQ :-

Q : Does it hurt?
A : I won't lie to you. It does. But i'll give you some tips to lessen the pain (beauty is pain right?)

Q : Where is the best place to do it?
A : My answer is always Strip. I recommend it all the time that i started to believe they owe me royalty.

Q : Don't you feel embarrassed?
A : Err..trust me, the ppl who strip away your bulu have seen a lot. Just imagine you're going to a gynae.

Q : Do you need to do all the acrobatic poses? (kangkang and tonggeng here and there)
A : No. They are professional. You only need to bend your knee slightly while lying.

So far, i have tried 2 places for waxing. I know it's not much. Well, when  i like something i tend to stick around for long. I'm a loyal person :D

First, let's take a look at Strip, my first choice in Brazilian waxing.

Inside of the room

The locker to put your stuff and hang your clothes, just next to the bed

Err..the wall. I took this because it's cute. Hehe

What happens in that room?

Before you enter the room, they will hand you wet wipe and ask you to clean yourself first. When you finally lie on that bed, the wax lady will heat up the wax. You can choose between hard wax and soft wax. You also may choose combo package, a mix of soft and hard. I always choose this one which costs RM88. They claim hard wax is less painful but to me wax IS painful no matter how hard it is. For combo, they will put soft wax on the less painful part of your nether region and hard wax on the most painful part. The less painful part is at the top part of your V area and around it. The least painful part is in between your butt (seriously it feels like nothing). And..the winner of the most painful part is at the labia, the 'lips' of our vajayjay. Let be honest here. The first time will hurt especially if your pubic hair is coarse, a result from shaving. It will get better after that as the new growth will be less coarse and softer. DO NOT go back to shaving. Always wax. Or if you broke, just trim the hair away. Okay, back to the procedure. After the wax is heated (warm, not hot), the lady will dip a stick (it looks like a bigger version of popsicle stick) in the wax pot and spread it on your skin, put the wax cloth on and in the count of 1, 2, 3..she will pull it off very quickly. Usually the girl will amuse you by showing you the cloth. You could see all the hair stuck there with the root (like a small white bulb attached to the hair). When everything is over, you gonna feel elated and 'clean'. I always feel like a schoolgirl who haven't hit her puberty yet. Haha.
Strip guarantees the procedure will be done in 15 minutes flat. Yes, they are that fast and efficient. What i like the most about Strip is, they are very hygienic. For example, the stick they use will be dipped only ONCE. One dip, one spread and the stick will be thrown away. Second dip will start with new stick.

There are times when money is a bit tight, i searched for cheaper option. After a brief googling session, i found this place called Fabulous Tan at Mid Valley. It's a tanning centre (don't ask me why we have tanning place here, scorching hot country). My advice is, do not go for their Brazilian. It's so lousy i get so pissed. They used cheap and low quality wax which is not effective at all. When they stripped the cloth from your skin, only few hair stuck there. It was a torturous session and the girl ended up shaving my nether region. Hello..why do i have to pay RM60++ for a shave? I can do it myself. The best part? The girl agreed with me that the management is using low quality wax and she whispered to me "i actually go to Strip for Brazilian wax". -__-

After that, some people recommend Saluga. Saluga is not new to me as I always go to there for eyebrow threading. Located at Bangsar, facing Bangsar Village II, next to Baskin Robbins. People told me their wax is as good as Strip but it costs cheaper, at RM50 for Brazilian.

It is on the second floor, above Paris optical shop.

They also provide haircut.

So i decided to try Brazilian wax at Saluga. Yes, true to their claim, the wax Saluga uses is as good as Strip's. Even though there is no private room, you have to lie on the bed with the curtain down, i guess it comes with the territory; cheaper option. However, i have hygiene issue with this one. They used the same stick to dip in that wax pot. One single goddamn stick for your vajajay and butt. Imagine how many sticks have been dipped in there. I decide that i'll stick to threading only when it comes to Saluga.

If you have tried other places and it's good (with cheaper price of course), please do tell me!

Tips :
- do not go for wax within 2 weeks prior or after your menstrual because our skin is sensitive during this period, making it more painful.
- during the procedure, inhale deeply while they put the cloth on your hair and exhale when they pull it away. Tell the wax lady to count to 3 so that you know when to exhale. This will lessen the pain.
- your hair must be at least half of inch or else the cloth won't stick to your hair.
- please call for appointment first.
